The Council considered memorandum XCC(87) 23.
The Council ADVISED and the Acting Governor ORDERED :
that, subject to the provision of
funds by the Finance Committee of
the Legislative Council
(a) a one-off grant of. $12
million should be made to
FHKI, as set out in paragraph
7 of the memorandum; and
(b)
a one-off grant of $1 million
should be made to HKSTC, as
set out in paragraph 9 of the
memorandum.
(Sir S.Y. Chung as Honorary President and Mr Allen
Lee as a Member of the General Committee asked that their
positions be noted.)
(The Secretary for Trade and Industry, Mr S.A.
WEBB-JOHNSON, and the Director of Industry, Mr A.G. EASON,
attended before the Council for the discussion of this item.)
