decantation accommodation is necessary to facilitate smooth rehousing for pursuing effective urban renewal.

The responsibility, of rehousing should rest upon the LDC alone without the burden being shared by the Government or the Housing Authority. Satisfactory rehousing, a preferred option especially for owner-occupiers, will certainly alleviate the fears and concerns of people who might be displaced by the future redevelopment proposals. Particular attention should be given to rehousing the more needy tenants such as the poor and the

Sir, we all have great expectation of the LDC and will certainly wish to see substantial improvements in the standards of housing and the environment in the dilapidated part of Hong Kong.
