Will the Government inform this Council whether it considers that the establishment of a science park/technology Centre in Hong Kong will help to promote the development of high technology industries in Hong Kong and if so, what is the latest progress of the proposal and when is it expected to be implemented?

Development Board has only last month advised that

this idea merits detailed consideration. Accordingly,

the Board's Science and Technology Support Committee

will shortly investigate

Park/Technology centre would benefit Hong Kong, what

its objectives should be, what model would be

appropriate in our circumstances, and what logistical,

administrative
