Beday I am pleased to be able to table the

1986-87 Annual Report of the Hong Kong Industrial Estates

In tabling the 1985-86 report last year

record. Some 11 hectares of land at Tai Po and Yuen Long

Estates were disposed of. I am pleased to report that in

the past year the Corporation has maintained this encouraging

performance, disposing of some 10.7 hectares of land through

a total of 16 Agreements for ease.

Significantly, land sales at

Yuen Long exceeded those at Tai Po for the first time.

Given the Government's ambitious plans for upgrading the

infrastructure of the North-West New Territories I am

sure that Yuen Long will prove an increasingly attractive

location for both foreign and domestic investors.
