6. I estimated the number attending the meeting at between 150 and 200. In view of the fact that leaflets announcing the meeting had been distributed in Chinatown the previous day

(without the knowledge of the Contemporary China Institute as host organisation), this attendance seems not unduly large. Many of the young people present seemed to be students at the University of London. There was virtually no disposition on the part of those attending to question any of Lee's assertions.

7. Copies of the delegation's letter to the Prime Minister and some other literature, including a press release and the latest issue of Hong Kong Link were available at the meeting. I attach the latter two items.
