We, the pastors and priests of the Churches in Hong Kong, fully support the delegation visiting England to promote democracy in Hong Kong. We agree with their objectives and demands. In particular, we agree that partial direct election should be introduced in the Hong Kong Legislature in 1988,

because this is in accordance with the wishes of the majority of the people of Hong Kong.
