HONG KONG: 1987 REVIEW OF REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT:

STRATEGY

1. Mr Renton agrees with the recommendations in Mr Hum's submission of 28 January. He wonders whether the message to Wu should be more specific about the timing of a meeting if 23-25 March are clearly the best dates. He believes that No 10 will need to be informed once the meeting with Wu is arranged.

2. Mr Renton would be quite happy to brief a group of interested MPs on the contents of the Green Paper in due course. He believes that Parliament as a whole could be informed by way of a written PQ and a detailed answer.
