Thank you for your letter of 28 July. I very much enjoyed meeting you during your visit to London and found our conversation extremely useful in helping me understand the current situation in Hong Kong. I hope we may meet again when I visit in September.

I also greatly enjoyed the evening at Osterley Park, which was clearly a great success for everybody present. What an enormous amount of work was put into it. I am glad you too felt it had been worthwhile.
