What do you see as the major priorities of your Governorship?

As regards matters of internal policy, I shall want to

consider these at some length, and discuss them with my

officials and the members of the Executive Council before I

come to any firm views. In general, I would hope to continue. to build on the very impressive achievements Hong Kong has already produced in the way of the material welfare of Hong Kong people, and the quality of their surroundings and their way of life. I would like Hong Kong to continue to be able

to face the future
