in hand. It will take place at 11.30 am at the BT Headquarters at 81 Newgate Street EC4 (opposite St Pauls tube station) new Governor will need to arrive by 11.00 am. HKGO will provide transport from a pick up point to be decided on the day.

We need the advice of the Governor designate on two small but important points:

Would he prefer to face the Hong Kong press seated in an armchair with perhaps a coffee table for papers, or behind a desk; and

Paul Brown assumes that John Chan will introduce the Governor from the Hong Kong end. Would the Governor also want to be introduced from this end? If so presumably a representative from News Department should do this. Either way I suggest that we ask a News Department representative to present.
