COSTS

4.

I have written in earlier Chapters about the need for and the benefits and advantages of my recommendations. I have also indicated that I am not attempting detailed costings. It has been better to use my limited time in other ways and leave that task to those officials in Government and the Judiciary who have the local staff-costs, manning policies and rules at their finger-tips.

5.

Nevertheless, I have not reached my conclusions without costs and savings in mind....... ilost of those recommendations on court structure and the distribution of business (39-58) which call for direct action will cost little or nothing or will actually save money. Of the others in this group some could lead to financial savings in the Judiciary or to reduced external public cost.
