Thank you for your letter of 28 November.
We in HKD continue to find this a very useful checklist. We hope its production does not get too cumbersome or time-consuming. I think it is about right as it is, and have only a few very minor points to offer:
•
| LAST PAPER
3.
(a) As a matter of format, it is helpful if the material can always be arranged so that it can be read across three columns. There is a slight risk of confusion (see page 6 of your paper) if separate items are juxtaposed in adjacent columns ;
(b) Under SEM S schedule, we are fairly sure that the Chinese will also be interested in the question of a Central Provident Fund and possible implications for the finances of the SAR. If the subject proves controversial in Hong Kong, there is also potential for Parliamentary interest in the subject;
(c) Under SHW's schedule, there may possibly be Parliamentary interest in POWS' benefits. (We have had correspondence in the past with MPs on behalf of individual recipients of benefits); and
(d) Under SLW's schedule, we can be certain that the Chinese will also take an interest in the future use of military land.
We look forward to the next edition in March 1987.
