Unless each Dependent Territory wished to embark on this procedure (and I was under the impression that only a limited number of Dependent Territories were interested in the extension of the 1984 Act), the repeal of the 1884 Act would mean that for some Dependent Territories no transfers Could take place. No doubt the Home Office and the MOD will consider this point in deciding whether or not the 1884 Act should be repealed.
