An Ordinance to amend the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance.

[11 April 1986]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Interpretation and General Clauses Short title. (Amendment) Ordinance 1986.

2. Section 90 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

Amendment of section 90.

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "(2) and (3)" and substituting the following (Cap. 1.)

(b) in subsection (2)--

“(2), (3) and (4)";

(i) by deleting paragraph (a); and

(ii) by deleting "attempt,"; and

(c) by inserting, after subsection (3), the following-

"(4) Where a person is convicted of the offence at common law of conspiracy to defraud, he shall be liable to imprisonment for 14 years.".
