We have recently heard from Belgium that their Bill to 777

enable ratification of the 1978 Accession Convention for the three new Member States to join the 1968 Judgments Convention has passed. They expect to deposit their Instrument of Ratification within about three weeks. As you know, Belgium is the last of the six original Member States to ratify the Accession Convention and

so the way is now clear for the UK to ratify it and for the Convention to enter into force. Belgium has in fact acted a little more
