THE JURY (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1986
(No. 3 of 1986)

The object of this Ordinance is to amend the Jury Ordinance to provide that a jury shall consist of 7 persons except where the court or judge orders that the jury shall consist of 9 persons.
Provision is made for majority verdicts where the jury comprises 7 or 9 persons and also where the number of jurors is reduced, and for the validity of such verdicts.
2. Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
