U.S. criteria. If at some future juncture the Hong Kong Government

should require presentation of both the British National (Overseas)

passport and a Hong Kong identity card for entry into Hong Kong,

then the two documents when presented together would also meet U.S.

criteria. In either case, the U.S. Government will recognize the

proposed British National (Overseas) passport.

The Ambassador of the United States renews to the Foreign and

Commonwealth Office the assurances of his highest consideration.
