HONG KONG:

BRITISH NATIONALS (OVERSEAS) : FACILITATING TRAVEL TO

THIRD COUNTRIES

1. The Ambassador asked me to take action on your Circular letter GNP 343/32 of 23 September. I therefore called on the Head of Consular Department of the Federal Secretariat for Foreign Affairs and handed over a Note and piece of paper based on the annexes to your letter. In handing over the documents, I emphasised the fact that British Nationals (Overseas) would travel on

I could normal passports and enjoy the same rights as BDTC passport holders. therefore see no difficulty for Yugoslavia in accepting the new category of British nationality.

2. Mr Jović promised to study the documents and let me know if the Yugoslav Government had any further comments or questions. It is in fact unusual for the FSFA to comment on this sort of thing and I would not expect any public statement from the Yugoslav Government on the subject.
