CAN PEOPLE HOLD BDTC AND BN(0) PASSPORTS SIMULTANEOUSLY?

No.

People may hold only one at a time, in order to:

a)

guard against abuse (too many passports in

the system);

b)

ensures that BN (0)s do not get into trouble with

foreign ports by offering two passports;

c)

avoid undermining immigration control (switching

from one passport to another);

d)

avoid doing anything which might suggest to third

countries that we have no confidence in the BN(0)

passport.

WHAT ABOUT BUSINESSMEN WHO HOLD TWO PASSPORTS?

We do allow much-travelled businessmen to hold two passports if they

have to travel to incompatible countries. But both passports are held

in the same status. Do not permit passports to be held in different

statuses.

AVENUES FOR SETTLEMENT

In addition to coming to this country as the dependant or fiance(e) of

someone already here, there are a number of ways in which anyone subject

immigration control may be allowed into the United Kingdom with a view to

eventual settlement under the Rules. The categories included under this

heading are work permit holders, those engaged in permit-free employment

such as ministers of religion, doctors and dentists etc., businessmen

and self--employed persons and persons of independent means.
