Information is not collected on the numbers of stolen firearms recovered. Figures on all theft and burglary offences recorded by the police are published annually in Crir final Statistics, England and Wales, (Table 2.1 of Cm 9621) and quarterly in Home Office Statisti- cal Bulletins (the latest in Issue 4/86). Information on offences recorded by the police in which firearms were reported to have been used is published annually in Criminal Statistics, England and Wales (Chapter 3 of

Cmnd. 9621 including in Table 3.2 by type of weapon reported by the victim); information is not, however collected centrally about the use in these offences of any firearms stolen. However, while there is little concrete evidence to show how criminals obtained their weapons, one must accept that a number of the firearms stolen will subsequently have been used in further crimes.

Lord Brockway asked Her Majesty's Government: Whether they have reached a decision on granting British citizenship to non-ethnic Chinese of Hong Kong, who are British Dependent Territory
