:

1. An intriguing snippet came my way during an introductory discussion with the South Pacific experts in the State Department today : it may conceivably be of interest to you and Hong Kong, if it contributes to a larger jigsaw.

2.

Apparently both the Solomon Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia have been approached by an unnamed group from Hong Kong asking whether they would be prepared to grant 10,000 visas for permanent residents. Similar overtures were made to Tonga at an earlier stage. I understand that all three declined this tempting offer.
