6. Urges the Commission to take urgent action to inform the governments

of all States inthe world as to the status and validity of the European Passport and to ensure that it is recognised throughout

the world on the same basis as existing national passports;

Instructs the Commission to draw up proposals and to press for the realisation of the Passport Union first envisaged by the Heads of Government meeting in Paris on 9/10 December 1974 and confirmed by the resolution of the Council on 23 June 1981;

Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Commission, Council and Foreign Ministers meeting in Political Cooperation and to the governments of the Member States.
