ADVICE SOUGHT

(a)

Members are asked to advise:

whether the maximum amount of non-programme material within а clock hour should be limited to 10 minutes of advertisements, two minutes of station/programme promotion and up to one minute, but not less than 30 seconds of unpaid API (paragraphs 8 and 9);

(b) whether the maximum duration of each break within programmes and interval between programmes should be 3.5 minutes and 5 minutes respectively with no internal stipulation as to how the time should be used for non-programme material (paragraphs 11 and 12);

(c) whether the minimum duration of each programme segment between breaks should be 8 minutes (paragraph 11);

whether the Broadcasting Authority should be given discretion to vary the number of break, length of programme segments and limit of non-programme material in a clock. hour if programme arrangements SO require (paragraph 13);

whether the BRB's recommendation to increase the overall daily advertising limit to 12% of transmission time in the 24-hour period commencing at 6 o'clock in the morning should or should not be adopted (paragraph 16);

whether classified advertisements should be allowed at any time between 2.00 a.m. and noon (but not necessarily in blocks of 15 minutes each), and whether the future Broadcasting Authority should review this arrangement one year after its

year after its introduction (paragraph 18);

whether or not the introduction of teloping should be left to the discretion Broadcasting Authority (paragraph 21);
