More recently the Government has taken further action in pursuit of its anti-smoking policy. In 1984 the Health & Welfare Branch established an Anti-Smoking Review Group comprising government officials, voluntary agencies representatives of the medical profession to review the working of the current anti-smoking measures recommendations for the future, taking into account the BRB's consideration of a future ban on tobacco advertising on television.
