Dear Mr HE,

Thank you for your letter dated 24th September 1985,

which has been carefully considered by the Post Office in Hong Kong.

The views expressed by Mr WEN Yie-lin have been noted, and they have also been passed to the BBC. I understand that the BBC's engineers have good contacts with their opposite numbers in China and that they may be able to resolve this matter between them in an informal way.

I should add, however, that the Post Office in Hong Kong remains responsible for any interference which may be caused by any transmitter in Hong Kong territory. I should be glad therefore if you will inform the relevant authority in China that we remain willing to discuss the subject of frequency co-ordination both in respect of the proposed BBC station or in respect of any other radio systems.
