Members are invited to note:
that the number of off-course betting centres is unlikely to exceed 134 within the next few years (paragraph 22), that the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club has no plan to introduce further forms of exotic bets at the present time and that agreement from Government would be sought should the Club wish to introduce other types of bets (paragraph 26), and that the number of racing fixtures would not exceed 77 days a year alghough the position may be re-considered should the ban on Sunday racing at Happy Valley be lifted (paragraph 28);
that Gambling Ordinance 1977 is generally effective as a deterrent to potential illegal operators and gamblers (paragraph 56).
