Proposed change in format of the "book":

Amendments to take into account restructuring of UNHCR

and suggestion that it should be in loose-leaf form

sensible. Loose-leaf form no more expensive than book.

Insist on having an index. Text of "book" would

benefit from a more tabulated style but we should not

wish the data content to be reduced.

2. Report of Excom:

(a) The narrative is a duplication of the summary

records and so there is a danger that if the

narrative reports continue the summary records

could be stopped (para 9 of Ref C Annex 1).

(b) Welcome reduction in length.

(c) Narrative should, as far as possible, be cut

to only that which affects operation of UNHCR

programmes.

Narrative on the general debate

should form the core of the narrative. Do see

need for short, introductory narratives on some

agenda items.
