Thank you for your letter of 6 November 1986, which will have crossed with my (77) in this series, dated 5 +8 November 1986.

We are working through the list of 1,030 names which you sent to us and will let you know the outcome in the next few weeks.

As requested in your letter of 24 October 1986, we have also been looking through the UNHCR lists. As we pointed out the data base is unreliable, but we think that there are at least 650 refugees here who claim to have a relative in UK. Your list of 1,030, based on claims at the UK-end will provide a more accurate figure. We will let you have the total figure together with your lists within the next few weeks.
