Committee of the Red Cross, with its partners, the League of Red Cross Societies, and the national societies of many concerned countries, has I long set the standard for impartial, nonpolitical, humanitarian aid. The Intergovernmental Committee for Migration serves as the lead organization for medical processing and resettlement transportation for the U.S. refugee admissions programs.
Probably the most significant result of cooperation has been the growing recognition that refugee problems are best resolved in the regions from which the refugees come. UNHCR management, and prudent management of refugee programs worldwide, reduce significantly the numbers of refugees for whom third country resettlement is ન necessary or even desirable solution.
