RESETTLEMENT

COUNTRIES
1.
Your teleletter of 20 June highlighted the differences between the resettlement figures given in my letter of 3 June to Bonn and your telno 1875. The differences are, as you will have guessed, because I have given total actual or anticipated commitments, whereas you
have given figures for offtakes in calendar 1986.

teleletter:

Netherlands: the difference between your figure (70) and mine (80) is accounted for by the unused 10 places in the Dutch quota (UKMIS Geneva telno 88 of 3 March).
Norway:
your figure (75) accords with ours (Oslo telno 122 of 10 June).
Luxembourg: our figure of 20 families was taken telno 746 of 11 March.
France:
from your
we understand (Paris telno 530 of 21 May) that rance has authorised the acceptance of 13 family reunion refugees; the monthly figure of 10 was suggested (see same telegram) by the rench.
Belgium: our figure was based on earlier speculation by the Belgians when they first considered the family reunion list of 51.
The figure is now, of course, 29 family reunions (your Brussels telno 1828 of 13 June).
Greece: the Greek MFA is proposing to other Ministries that the 6 unfilled places from global quota of 200 be allocated to Hong Kong.
