LADY YOUNG'S VISIT TO PARIS, 3 JUNE: LUNCH WITH M. BARIANI
VIETNAMESE REFUGEES IN HONG KONG
POINTS TO MAKE
1.
Pleased to
to learn that, as a result of Mrs Chalker's visit in April, France has agreed to consider accepting 135 Francophone refugees from Hong Kong.
2.
that Hope
the "Ecole sans Frontières' project to conduct French language and orientation courses in the Hong Kong camps will go ahead, and produce more refugees who could resettle in France. Such a gesture by France would
add a useful and exemplary political dimension.
3.
Seriously concerned about Vietnamese refugee problem in Hong Kong. UK and Hong Kong are accepting more refugees, as are several friends and allies. Pressing others to do
more.
