The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to HM Embassy of the United Kingdom and has the honour to inform

HM Embassy with regard to the letter of the General Secretary of Foreign Affairs of 24 October 1985 to H M Ambassador Mr Alexander, that, after careful examination by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Vietnamese refugees set out on the attached list from the "Secretary of Security in Hongkong" cannot unfortunately be admitted to Austria.

all?

The Federal Ministry of the Interior was able to find out that

Mr Dang Van Tuan has no brother by the name of Dang Van Du resident in Austria (case 5 on the attached list).

It was also learnt from research carried out that the Vietnamese

citizens Nguyen Thi Cuc, Le Huu Hiep and Le Thi Hue (cases 25-27 on the attached list) have already emigrated to Australia.

The appropriate Austrian authorities will endeavour to find an

acceptable solution for the remaining persons mentioned on the list (cases 1-4 and 6-24) to join their families.

The result of these endeavours will be brought to the attention of H M Embassy in due course.

The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this

opportunity to renew to H M Embassy the assurance of its highest

consideration.
