POLICY EVALUATION: DRAFT OF A PROVISIONAL GUIDE FOR MANAGERS
INTRODUCTION
and
Policy evaluation is about reviewing a policy while it
is in operation or sometimes after it has been terminated.
It is natural follow-on to policy appraisal which is
done before the policy is set up, and it employs similar
techniques. Appraisal helps decision making. It throws
light on whether the proposed policy is worthwhile
which of different options is to be preferred.
enables the decisions to be reviewed in the light of
actual performance and in the light of any changes in
environment. Both appraisal and evaluation help
managers to achieve the objectives of policy effectively
and efficiently and sometimes to review the objectives
the
themselves.
