Oxfam does not currently have a role in any of the

refugee camps in Hong Kong, but in its report it offers to

help.

Our proposed reply to Oxfam is a general one, as:

almost all the issues raised are primarily for the Hong

Kong Government to consider (and Oxfam note that some

improvements are already being made by the HKG). On

further resettlement in the UK, our drafts both to No 10

and to Oxfam take a non-committal line. We are now

considering what further steps we might ask the Home Office

to take when our current resettlement commitment ends. I

submitted recommendations on 8 July.
