Countries Participating in RASRO
The RASRO scheme came into effect on 1 May 1985, and this was announced by the UNHCR at a meeting in Geneva on 2 April 1985. At that time, 2,327 places had been plodged by 12 nations. Since then, Japan and Greece have also joined the scheme and contributed 100 and 5 places respectively. With the exception of Australia and West Germany, all the main resettlement countries have now participated in the scheme.
