RESETTLEMENT IN AUSTRIA

You should know that this was raised when Dr Steger (Vice Chancellor of Austria) called on the Secretary of State on 27 February. The Secretary of State asked whether Austria Could take some refugees with close relatives already in Austria, and Dr Steger replied that this would be considered, although he could mak e no promises. The Austrian Ambassador intervened

intervened to mention the difficulties of integrating Vietnamese Refugees in European

countries
