"(4) The rate of interest specified

for the purposes of subsections (1) and

(3) shall be the rate fixed by the Chief

Justice by notice in the Gazette under

section 50 of the District Court Ordinance.".

3. Rule 13 of the Labour Tribunal (General)

Rules is revoked.

Explanatory Memorandum

This Bill amends section 39 of the Labour

Tribunal Ordinance to provide that the rate of interest

in respect of claims and awards in the Labour Tribunal

will follow the rate prescribed by the Chief Justice in

respect of judgment debts in the District Court.

2. The Bill has no Public Service staffing or

public expenditure implications.
