DEVELOPMENT OF JUNK BAY NEW TOWN
TRANSPORT LINKS TO JUNK BAY
Introduction
On 14 September 1982, having considered memorandum XCR (82)209, Members advised and the Governor ordered-

" (a) that Junk Bay should be developed as a new
town, subject to the
the provision of funds by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council when necessary, and

that further consideration should be given to the external and internal public transport links for Junk Bay but having regard to reasonable costs.

At the Council's Meeting on 21 March 1984, Mr. O.V. Cheung asked what steps had been taken to improve the planned road access to Junk Bay New Town following that part of the Council's advice quoted in paragraph 1(b) above, and the Governor directed that an information note on the subject should be prepared.

The purpose of this memorandum is to advise Members of the current plans for transport
