THE MASS TRANSIT RAILWAY (LAND RESUMPTION AND RELATED PROVISIONS)(AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1986

(No. 6 of 1986)

Section 15(3) of the principal Ordinance enables a proprietor of land, if he cannot obtain building approval for the development of the land on the ground that development would be incompatible with works for the construction of the Mass Transit Railway, to require the land to be resumed by the Crown. This Ordinance extends that provision to land affected by the construction of the proposed eastern harbour crossing of the railway.

2. The opportunity has been taken to make an amendment to section 3 of the principal Ordinance consequential on an earlier amendment to the Ordinance.

Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
