Re: Ground Floor Shop & First Floor Front Portion

at 56 Percival Street

Further to our meeting on 3rd January, 1986 discussing about the

construction of a footbridge at Percival Street, our company, being the

landowner of the said property, wishes to reiterate our position.

We strongly oppose the construction of this footbridge, the

grounds of which are similar to those mentioned in our previous several

letters sent to your office., Fuch construction wil), adversely affect

the value of our above-mentioned property as well as our business in

the following manner :

(1) Properly value will be affected and drop: This is very obvious.

The effect had even been clearly seen when the footbridge

construction was gazetted but not yet started. We can quote

a practical example of victimization. We offered the above-

mentioned shopspace and property for sale in 1984. After a

very long period of time, we managed to find a buyer who agreed

to take up the offer following several rounds of negotiation.

We instructed a solicitors' firm on 11th June, 1984 to handle

the documentation for this transaction, including our borrowing
