We act for Hui Yin Cheung and Kwong Ngai Ping, the owners of the captioned premises.

We refer to your notice dated 20th July 1985 and given under S.8(2) of Roads (Works, use and Compersation) Ordinance (Chapter 370). We are instructed to raise objections against the proposed reconstruction and the proposed closure ("the said Scheme") as stated in the said notice on the following grounds :-

Due to the said Scheme, the tenant of No.224 Des Voeux Road, Central, surrendered the lease in August 1985 on a date earlier than the expiration of the tenancy agreement. The said premises of No.224 has been in vacant possession and our clients have not, been able to find new tenants since the said surrender.
In relation to No.222 Des Voeux Road, Central, our clients have been informed by the present tenant, Central and Western District Office that on expiration of the present tenancy agreement, the said present tenant will not renew the present tenancy agreement.
Our clients are of the view that both tenants surrender their tenancies because of the knowledge of the said Scheme.
It is clear that our clients presently have and will have difficulties in future in finding new tenants for the captioned premises bearing in mind that our clients have to disclose the proposed Scheme to the prospective tenants, consequentially,
