Urban Council refuse disposal and other vehicles parking and blocking the left hand lane ;
C. a major junction at the end.
Transport Department agreed to this in principle but had some doubts on the length of the lay-bye.
iii) Lay-bye No.3 - This was agreed in principle but relocated as
shown on attached plan.
iv)
Hung Hing Road - It was agreed that the lorry parking between Marsh Road and Tonnochy Road would be deleted, and an alteration made to pavements so that two full lanes of traffic from Marsh Road would be provided. (Kowloon traffic to use the inner lane, Harbour Road traffic to use the outer lane.)
As you are aware we have also objected to certain aspects of the pro- posed Stewart Street footbridge across Gloucester Road since we think it would be detrimental to feed pedestrians down to ground level in Harbour- Drive.
Two additional improvements were also discussed:·
a)
Widening of Fleming Road at the point marked 'X' on attached plan.
(This we understand is still being considered.)
b) Extra access to SHK Centre at point 'A'. This is now under
construction.
Please note that we have not yet withdrawn our objection to the Town Planning Board. Once the programme of improvements is known, we will do
so.
