General description of the works

The objective of the works is to improve vehicular traffic conditions along Connaught Road Central and West between Harbour View Street and Sutherland Street, end to upgrade pedestrian crossing facilities across Connaught Road West at Morrison Street and Tung Hing Lane.

The proposed works comprise :

construction of a flyover along Connaught Road Central

and West from west of Gilman Street to east of Sutherland Street, as shown on Plan Nos. HH5249 and HH5250, for a dual-two-lane free flow along this road;

modification to Connaught Road Central and West between east of Harbour View Street and Des Voeux Toad West, as shown on Plan Nos. HH5246, #H5247 and HHS248, including :

(i) realignment of the eastbound and westbound

carriageways of Connaught Road Central and West

to suit the flyover;

(ii) addition of a eastbound side road for local traffic from Des Voeux Road West to Cleverly Street; (iii) segregation of a tram-only passageway between

Cleverly Street and Des Voeux Read est; (iv) addition of a westbound side road for local

traffic from Man Wa Lane to Des Voeux Road West; (v) provision of road crossings and/or turning pockets

in the central divider between the new eastbound and westbound carriageways at the following locations :

east of Rumsey Street,

at Fumsey Street,

west of Rumsey Street,

at Hillier Street,

at the exit of the new Macau Ferry Terminal,

at the ingress to the new bus terminus west of

the new Macau Ferry Terminal, and

at the ingress to the service road west of the

new terminus; and
