Tracer sand can be used in the research on the patterns

governing the dynamic sedimentation and induration of the

silt, as well as to find out the silting of the reservoir,

alluvious deposit in the harbour, and the coastal sand

erosion. Besides, tracer sand can also be employed in the

study of the boulder movement and the mud-rock flow so as

to solve the problems in silt mechanics, river-bed evolution

and some problems concerning sendimentology.

Tracer water can be used as a means to study the seepage

flow of various hydraulic structures, to detect the hidden

troubles in dams and in reservoirs having damage and danger,

to survey water-source in dry region, to explore and utilize

underground wells, as well as to study such matters as con-

cerning the motion of the underground water and the pollution

of water source.

Tracer Atom and Mechanical Wear

By means of diffusion and ion-injection, the radioactive

gas krypton-85 can be infiltrated into solid material and

this can be employed to investigate the wearing, corrosion

and even the crystal structure of the material, and to study

the work temperature distribution of the motion parts.

Moreover, the radioactive isotopic krypton-85 can also be

used for testing and checking of the system gas-volumetricity,
