Mr Stones indicated that the report to be released by the Government would not include information relating to the economic aspect of the plant as it involved commercial secrets.
A few papers quoted a Government spokesman as saying that more than 1 000 copies in English and 2 000 copies in Chinese of the report would be made available to the public.
Tuesday, November 4: Wah Kiu Yat Po said the Government would not release the Daya Bay report in Legco tomorrow. An ESB official told the paper that the report would be ready later this week or early next week.
The SCM Post reported that the Government would release the report before the end of the week. The managing director of China Light, William Stones, denied reports quoting him as saying the report would be released by the Government tomorrow.
Wednesday, November 5: Financial Secretary, Piers Jacobs, said last night that the authorities should be able to give a document containing information on the safety and economic aspects of the Daya Bay plant to Legco members on Friday, Ming Pao reported. Mr Jacobs told the paper that the document would include some new information about the plant.
But he did not elaborate on what the new information was about.
