In a long-distance telephone interview, a spokesman for the group in London said they acted on the case after receiving requests for help from church leaders and university lecturers in BK who were opposed to the nuclear project.

The spokesman said the group's request for information would be made through an MP, Frank Cook, who was also a member of Green Peace.

He added that the information they wanted would include the financing of the plant and the involvement of the Government within the whole issue.

He felt that although the major contracts for the project had been

stressed that his group would do everything in its power to help the people of HK.

Wednesday, October 29: The HK Standard reported that the

anti-nuclear coalition will soon launch the first public programme for what they call the "second phase of their marathon Daya Bay protest. They and the HK Friends of the Earth have invited a Japanese scientist, Dr Sadao Ichikawa, to deliver a talk on "radioactive hazards from nuclear plants" at St Andrew's Church at Nathan Road on Friday afternoon.
