Nuclear Reactor Safety Technology Study :
Done for purpose of nuclear power stations
at Qinshan and Daya Bay.
Nuclear Reactor Simulator Technology Studies :
A life size
size simulator has been
been purchased
from the USA for installation at Tsinghua
University, and is expected to come into operation in 1987. The purpose is to train up personnel for the Daya Bay before the Daya Bay
Plant completes construction. Furthermore it
will also be used to train up NNSA staff, and to
give examinations for licensing operators.

(4) New reactor concept studies:
Studies are made on the concept of a low temperature, low pressure reactor which has good safety features. An experimental reactor is being built.
In the course of discussion with nuclear research
experts, Members were told that in the 60s nuclear research in
China was on the same level of achievement as some of the western
countries, but due to the Cultural Revolution and financial
