co-operation in nuclear safety and
radiological protection

particular emphasis will be placed on ways of enhancing nuclear safety,
on international co-operation to that end and on the role of the Agency.
The Conference will have before it the report on the post-Chernobyl-
accident review meeting foreseen for this summer and documentation on the
Agency's expanded nuclear safety programme. Also, the Conference may
have before it, for its consideration and adoption, two draft
international agreements - one on the early notification of nuclear
accidents with possible transboundary effects and one on emergency response and assistance in the event of a nuclear accident. In addition,
the Conference may wish to adopt an appropriate declaration or resolution.
