He added that Legco members should consider the question of their capacity if they were to go to Peking. The other point to be considered was that whether Legco members should go to Peking to reflect their views on major issues in the future.
Mr Lee told the HK Economic Journal that acceptance of the invitation by the delegations would only give an impression that the council agreed with the construction of the Daya Bay plant.

Sing Tao quoted Legco member Andrew Wong as saying that the delegations should not accept the invitation. He said that he personally did not understand why Peking should have sent out such an invitation because the delegations' observations had already been clearly recorded in their report.

He felt that if Peking wanted to know HK people's views on the Daya Bay issue, it should ask Umelco Unofficials and not just the Legco delegations as they could not represent Legco as a whole or HK people.
!
His views were shared by fellow member Conrad Lam.
The paper also quoted Lee Yu-tai as saying that all Legco Unofficials should be invited to go to Peking. Ho Sai-chu said it was difficult to determine who should go to Peking as Legco members were only invitees. He thought that it was a good thing for China to extend the invitation.
Another Legco member Tai Chin-wah said that Legco members should go to Peking to reflect HK people's wishes and that members who would be going to Peking should aşk China to allow HK people to take part in the management of the plant.
Martin Lee's own personal report on his nuclear fact-finding trips to the UK and the US, which was released yesterday, was widely reported in the media.
#
He called for a postponement of the signing of the Daya Bay contracte and an extension of the evacuation zone to areas within a 30-mile radius of nuclear plants.
Soma media reports quoted Allen Lee as saying that there was no need to put off the signing to a later date.
The report by Legco's nuclear fact-finding missions continued to draw more comments.
