Founded on September 9. 1948. Wen Wei Po (Hong Kong) has already had a history of more than thirty years.
Wen Wei Po, with its headquarter in Hong Kong, is a Chinese daily newspaper and has a readership of 8,000,000 and is widely circulated in Homg Kong, China and among the overseas Chinese communities. In China, it is subscribed by the State Council, various government departments, national export and import corporations, important commercial and industrial enterprises, scientific institutes, universities and educational institutes. Naturally, its readers include decision-making officals in
China.
Wen Wei ̊Po always emphasizes reports on news from China and stations correspondents at various important Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, with the aim of promptly and accurately reporting various development of China. It also puts efforts in reporting international news. Besides having its own resident correspondents in London, Paris, Washington and Tokyo, on the ocassions of major international events and its readers in China and overseas. It publishes economic periodicals like 'China Machinery', 'China Oil' jointly with the Chinese authorities and enterprises. It also publishes the annual 'Directory of China's Export Commodities' and the 'China's Import and Export Trade' which is published twice a year.
